Salvation

Most people know ABOUT God, but few actually KNOW Him on a personal level. These four basic principles will tell you everything you need to know about man’s condition and God’s solution. At the end of the day, this one question remains, “Have you ever experienced a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ?”

#1: God loves you.

The Bible talks extensively about how much God loves you. The greatest example of this was when He sent His only Son, Jesus, into the world to die for our sins. Even today, at this very moment, He watches over you and pursues you to have a relationship with you.

#2: Man is sinful and separated from God.

The belief that many roads lead to God is common in today’s culture. There are many religions out there, all claiming to be “the way.” Each of these religions have many good, nice people in them. But simply being “good” is not enough to bridge the gap between us and God

“Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

The truth is that all of us have blown it…all of us have sinned, and all it takes is one sin to separate us from our God, because He is perfect.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

As you can imagine, this creates a huge problem…because through sin, we are separated from God…and therefore cannot get to God on our own, for where He is, there can be no sin. We must admit our sin and fall before Him in humble repentance.

#3: Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for man’s sin.

You may think this sounds way too simple. But the reality is, it is that simple.

“Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:30-31

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

“…Who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

His death paid for your sins and mine, all the ones we have committed as well as any we will commit in the future. Jesus willingly gave His life for you and I. We were the joy that was set before Him.

Incredibly, three days after Jesus died, He rose from the dead. And because He rose from the dead, he now sits at the right hand of God making intercession (carrying messages for us and speaking to God on our behalf) for us.

“Christ died for our sins…He was buried…He was raised on the third day, in accordance with the scriptures…Then He appeared to more than five hundred brothers…” I Corinthians 15:3-6

“…He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:25

The death and resurrection of Jesus provides free and open access to God for all who will receive Him as their Lord and Savior.

#4: You must confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

“But to as many who received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” John 1:12

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

“…Let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the Water of Life without price.” Revelation 22:17

Salvation is God’s free gift to you. It is not achieved through any effort of your own or by simply being a “good” person or church attender. The point is simple: you must receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord.
